Lila’s Cave, Video-performance, 2006

Video-performance within a sandstone cave in the ‘driftless’ area of SW Wisconsin, a unique ancient seabed geography that was untouched by the last glacial period 10-12,000 years ago. It contemplates the feminine – within the ‘yoni’ cave opening a female figure emerges from and dissolves in the blackness.  The Sanskrit word ‘Lila’ is the sacred play from which all things manifest. Named for the friend whose property in SW Wisconsin this piece eas made on.  DV-SD/4:3
